Her story

Kayleigh's story

In 2018, aged just 28, Kayleigh was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through the fear, the treatment and the long recovery, and she beat it. Then she rebuilt her life with hope and determination.

Now the cancer has come back. Kayleigh has metastatic cancer that has spread to her spine and liver. It can't be cured at the moment, so the focus is on quality of life: making her days meaningful, joyful and full of love.

Through it all she stays strong, keeps smiling and puts everyone around her at ease. Online, she's honest about life with terminal cancer, and she's built a community of people cheering her on.

“Are you going to be a warrior with an A today, or a worrier with an O?”

Pete asked Kayleigh that question. Her answer: “I chose to be a warrior with an A, and I still do.”

Ways to help

Kind messages and shares mean the world. If you'd like to do a little more, here's how.

  1. Help her make memories

Kayleigh's friends set up a GoFundMe so she can spend her time making memories with her husband, family and friends: days out, trips, and comforts that make the hard days a little softer.

    Donate to her memories
  2. Get her motorhome on the road

Kayleigh now has an old Chevrolet RV. This GoFundMe pays for the repairs, parts and restoration to make it safe to drive, so she and Pete can travel around the UK, and maybe into Europe, making memories while they can.

Know old Chevrolets or motorhomes? Advice is welcome too.

    Donate to the motorhome
  3. Her wish list

A few things that would make everyday life a little easier or brighter. Gifts go straight to Kayleigh through Amazon.
